Q: What hardware do I need if I want to use MyQ?
A: You need at home an internet router with a free Ethernet connector. The router should be not too far away from the garage. The range of the gateway is similar to a Wifi range or better. In any case with an Ethernet cable extension the gateway can move closer to the garage or onto a better place in the house for sending and receiving.

Q: The green LED at the gateway is blinking a few times, then is off? Internet is working for devices at the same location (router).
A: The gateway can work only with an internet router that gives the IP address using DHCP enabled (DHCP must be enabled at your router, standard router setting is "enabled". Company networks or private experienced users may configure different). The gateway has no own IP address and expects it to be provided from the router.

Q: Why do I need IR sensors to close the garage door or the gate?
A: For safety. With the MyQ you are able to open and close the garage from anywhere in the world.

Q: What internet browser is required?
A: All modern browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Windows Explorer. Older versions of your browser may create problems and should be updated to the latest version available.

Q: What computer is required?
A: If a modern browser with the PC or laptop, the computer itself is suitable.

Q: What models of smart phones are supported?
A: Nearly all that have a browser for internet access. Apps for downloading are available for Android and Apple. If your phone is not from these two your convenient access is via the mobile browser. Go to www.myliftmaster.eu/mobile and safe it as favorite in your settings or download the favorite to the workplace/desktop of the phone.

Q: What models of operators / devices are supported by MyQ?
A: Please refer to www.chamberlain.eu or for professional installed operators to www.liftmaster.eu The family keeps growing.

Q: What is the wireless range between the gateway, the operators or devices that I can expect?
A: Similar to a Wifi signal or typically better. If your internet wifi router does reach the garage then the gateway will likely do too. If there are issues re-locate the gateway and move it to a different place.

Q: How long can the Ethernet cable become between the gateway and the internet router?
A: Up to 100m. Please use types with CAT 5 quality.

Q: How many operators or devices can a single gateway support?
A: A gateway can control 16 devices within the area it does reach wireless.

Q: Can I use the gateway for a community application?
A: It is not designed for such use.

A: If you travel with your smartphone, where ever you have internet connection, the system will work.

Q: Is MyQ a service that is free of charges for me?
A: Chamberlain does not charge for the use of the MyQ system. With the purchase of our products all costs are included. Charges the use of the internet may apply when connecting with the mobile phone. These are service provider charges that are outside the control of Chamberlain and depend on the contract with your provider.

Q: What is a push alert message? Who is able to receive push alert messages?
A: Push alerts are messages that the garage / gate was opened or closed. This is adjustable by the user. The push alert is send by the internet to the smart phone. Only Android and Iphone App users can receive push alerts.

Q: What is the speed of activation that I can expect, when I active the operator / device with my smart phone?
A: The speed depends on the internet connection you have. The fastest is using a direct connected computer at home and the reaction will be within a few seconds. If the smartphone has a poor connection then the time to send and receive feedback will take longer.

Q: Is the use of MyQ data secure stored and protected?
A: Yes. All signals are protected, encrypted and locked against misuse.

Q: Can I disable the login pass code on the smart phone?
A: Yes. Login, open the App and look for the setting is in the user settings.

A: Yes, it must be a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port.
